Hosted by the Street Carts of Canyon Lake, the 10th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive will be held this Sunday, December 6. Check-in for participating golf carts starts at 4 p.m. on Blue Bird Drive. One unwrapped toy is required to participate.

The parade will start and 5 p.m. and travel from Blue Bird Drive, down Canyon Lake Drive, and end at East Port Park. Due to restrictions on gathering, there will be no festivities at the end of the parade at East Port Park this year. The winners of the best-decorated golf carts will be announced on social media.

Residents who are not participating in the parade are invited to line the parade route and cheer on the whimsically decorated golf carts as they pass by.

The POA issued the following guidelines:

  • There will be no street parking on Canyon Lake Drive South/North (adjacent to the parade) on December 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. Vehicles and golf carts may park on the opposite side of the street and on side streets.
  • Vehicle traffic will be reduced to 5 MPH during the parade. Vehicles will not be permitted to pass the parade.
  • Due to this event being held in the evening, and for the safety of the spectators and participants, there will be no distribution of candy, promotional material, or other items on the parade route.

Street Carts President Mike Shroyer will have a toy drop off box in front of his home, 22055 Mustang Ct., through December 17 for residents who wish to participate in the Toy Drive.

The Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive started in 2011 with approximately 20 golf carts. Since then, the event has grown to more than 100 golf carts. For more information, contact Mike Shroyer at 951-244-6461.
