Canyon Lake Community Church kicked off its Christmas season on Saturday with its Many Wonders of Christmas luncheon fundraiser. More than 125 guests paid $20 each to attend the event.
Entertainment included harpist Kylene Evans and Six-Eight Time, a capella small ensemble that focuses on upbeat gospel-themed music.
Lunch was catered by chef Kelly Kingman and served by the husbands of the Many Wonders of Christmas Committee
The Christmas tree raffle is always the highlight of the luncheon. This year’s raffle included 27 themed Christmas trees and six large poinsettias that decorated the stage. The smaller poinsettias that served as table decorations were given away to one guest at each table.

Many wonders of Christmas was started 12 years ago by Alice Gray as a kickoff to the Christmas season and as an outreach for women’s ministries.
The committee works through the year to attend to every detail, from the menus and favors to the centerpieces, decorations, guest speakers, music, and Christmas trees. This year, Lynda Ofstad served as chair of the committee.
