The Canyon Lake City Council on Wednesday recognized Canyon Lake resident and firefighter Tim O’Marra as Citizen of the Month.
O’Marra, who was recently promoted to captain, was recognized for his renovation work at the fire station and helping with the preparations for the fire department’s grand opening last week.
O’Marra’s work included fixing the faulty electrical and plumbing and renovating the cabinets and countertops. O’Marra credited the crew for helping him and thanked the council for allowing him the opportunity to do the renovations to help improve the fire station so that it’s a safe and enjoyable place to work.
The Canyon Lake Citizen of the Month initiative was created in January of 2021 to honor Canyon Lake residents for their service to the community. Each awardee is recognized by the mayor with a certificate. Community members are encouraged to nominate Citizens of the Month by submitting their name and a short paragraph detailing their good work to [email protected]. Residents of all ages are eligible to be nominated for this award.
