The City of Canyon Lake is accepting juice box donations for Operation Juice Box, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a positive relationship between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.
The donated juice boxes will be distributed to local law enforcement, who will pass them out to children in the community.
The deputies use the juice boxes as a tool to help build a positive relationship with the children in the community. The simple gift of a juice box helps to create a positive interaction and opens a dialogue between law enforcement and children.
The goal of Operation Juice Box is to break down barriers, develop relationships, and instill a positive image of law enforcement in the minds of youth.
Residents who wish to donated juice boxes or make a monetary donation toward the purchase of juice boxes may drop off their donations at City Hall during normal business hours. City Hall is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Operation Juice Box was founded in 2016 by Chelsea Parham, a Texas 9-1-1 dispatcher. “As a 9-1-1 dispatcher serving a diverse community, I realized more needed to be done than simply sitting around and saying something needed to change, I needed to make a move towards change,” Parham said.
