The City of Canyon Lake is in the process of establishing a new municipal fire department that will begin operations on January 1, 2022.
The city today announced a new competition that will allow Canyon Lake residents to leave their own mark on the new department.
The city is seeking submissions from Canyon Lake residents on the design of a new patch for the new fire department. This patch will be worn by each firefighter on the left shoulder of their uniform.
“Canyon Lake Fire Department” and “Established 2022” must be included in the design. If a design is created using digital design or photo editing software, the original files and the font(s) used for any text must be included with the submission.
The contest runs from April 1 through April 30. The Fire Ad Hoc Committee will review all submissions between May 3 and May 6 and choose five finalists. Once this is done, Canyon Lake residents will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred patch, which will become the official Canyon Lake Fire Department patch.
At the beginning of May, the city will release information on how residents can vote for each finalist. All residents are eligible to submit a design and vote for their preferred patch. For more information or to submit a design, email [email protected].
