The community is invited to watch Canyon Lake firefighters, deputies, city council members, and POA directors compete against each other in a Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, July 15, at 3 p.m. at Sierra Park.
Canyon Lake firefighters and deputies will be competing against each other for the Battle of the Badge title, while city council members and POA directors compete against each other for a chance to play against the Battle of the Badge winners for the ultimate title of City of Canyon Lake Cornhole Champions.
The tournament is single elimination with the final game being best two out of three.
Chief Mike Samuels, Captain Tim O’Marra, Captain Brennain Gorter, and Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Bratt will be representing the Canyon Lake Fire Department.
Captain James Rayls, Lieutenant Will Edwards, Lieutenant Mike Portillo, and Deputy Ehron Enriquez will be representing the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lake Elsinore Station.
Mayor Jeremy Smith, Mayor Pro Tem Dale Welty, Councilwoman Jennifer Dain, and Councilman Mark Terry will be representing the Canyon Lake City Council.
President Bill Van Vleet, Public Information Officer/Clerk of the Board Harmony McNaughton, Corporate Administrator Andrea Moreno, and Jorge Castaneda of Operations will be representing the POA.
