Temescal Canyon High School student wins City of Canyon Lake scholarship essay contest

McKenzie Cassara, Temescal Canyon High School senior, stood out as the winner of the City of Canyon Lake’s scholarship essay contest. Her message focused on the potential for youth to become community leaders.

Recognizing her achievement, the Canyon Lake City Council honored Cassara at the May 8 council meeting and presented her with a $1,500 scholarship.

Cassara is a cheer captain, participates in varsity stunt, and volunteers her time at cheer and stunt clinics. She is an All-American Award recipient and has consistently maintains a spot on the honor roll. She enjoys reading and writing.

Beyond her extracurricular activities, Cassara finds joy in reading and writing. Her passion for English drives her academic pursuits, as she plans to study the subject further.

Cassara aspires to become an English teacher and plans to study English at San Diego State University or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
