Each year, the Canyon Lake City Council adopts a list of agreed-upon priorities for the year. These goals help guide the City Council and staff to ensure that time and other resources are allocated in a manner consistent with the City Council’s shared vision for the city.
Among the city’s 16 goals for 2020 was the goal to expand communications and public engagement efforts. The city accomplished this goal by adding a management analyst position responsible, among other things, for leading communications and public engagement efforts.
The city also produced 11 information videos, a virtual town hall meeting, virtual roundtable meetings, and numerous committee meetings via Zoom. Public outreach was expanded via email newsletters and social media platforms. The city established Instagram and Twitter accounts, which currently have 1,104 and 73 followers, respectively, and increased its Facebook followers by 34 percent.
Audio and video capabilities in the city Council Chamber were also enhanced.
