The City of Canyon Lake announced today that it’s instituting mitigation measures to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect residents who are most at risk.
The measures include canceling all functions, other than City Council meetings, scheduled to take place in the Council Chamber, requesting the POA to close the senior center and put on hold all club meetings and events of 10 or more people, postponing the city’s Community Clean-Up event scheduled for April 4, and requesting all restaurants to practice social distancing and separate dining groups by at least six feet.
City Hall will remain open at this time and police and fire operations will continue. The library will also remain open but all group functions are cancelled until further notice.
The city is assessing meetings on a case-by-case basis, applying and promoting social distancing, exploring options for remote public meetings, amplifying public outreach on best practices for limiting germ spread, and encouraging residents to sign-up for the city’s CodeRED emergency notification system.
