City of Canyon Lake seeking volunteers for Memorial Day flag project

For the third consecutive year, the City of Canyon Lake is continuing its tradition of honoring those who serve and who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting the nation by placing an American flag in the front yard of every home in the city.

In preparation for this tribute, the city is seeking volunteers to assist with two tasks: preparing 4,800 flags with ribbons and placing flags in yards in the yards. Students are encouraged to volunteer.

For residents interested in helping with tying ribbons around the flags, there are six opportunities to choose from: March 25 and March 28 and April 1 through April 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.

There are three opportunities to place the flags in yards: May 22 through May 24. The times depend on the volunteer’s availability.

This initiative not only pays homage to the country’s heroes but also fosters a sense of unity and gratitude within the community.

To volunteer to tie ribbons on the flags and/or place flags in yards, click here to register online on the city’s website.
