City of Canyon Lake seeks volunteers for annual Memorial Day flag display

For the fourth consecutive year, the City of Canyon Lake will transform the community into a sea of red, white, and blue by placing an American flag in the front yard of every home over Memorial Day weekend. This initiative serves as a tribute to the nation’s heroes while also enhancing the city’s patriotic spirit.

With more than 4,500 properties, the city is seeking volunteers to help bring this project to life. Volunteers are needed to place flags in the yards on Wednesday, May 21, Thursday, May 22, and Friday, May 23.

Additionally, the city is enlisting volunteers to help tie ribbons on all the flags before they are distributed. Ribbon-tying sessions will take place on April 2 and 3, April 16 and 17, and April 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. at city hall.

Individuals, clubs, students, and scouts are encouraged to participate in the community-wide initiative.
