City of Canyon Lake to announce new chief of police

The City of Canyon Lake will be announcing its new chief of police during the city council meeting on Tuesday, September 23, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The announcement marks a major milestone as Canyon Lake prepares to launch its own police department next year.

Residents are invited to attend the meeting, where they will have the opportunity to meet the city’s first chief of police and learn more about the department’s future operations.

City officials have been working toward establishing the Canyon Lake Police Department to provide dedicated local service and strengthen community safety. The appointment of the city’s police chief is a key step in building the department from the ground up.

City officials encourage community members are encouraged to take part in this historic moment and welcome the city’s new law enforcement leader.

The construction of the city’s new police department headquarters is on track to be completed on or before the scheduled November deadline. In August, the city approved the designs for the new police badge and patch.

The City of Canyon Lake Police Department is set to launch on or before August 2026.
