As part of its ongoing strategic planning efforts, the City of Canyon Lake has announced that it will end all current tenancies at its recently acquired building in the Towne Center, located at 31600 Railroad Canyon Road.
The property, which the city officially purchased on April 30 for $1,452,364, is slated for repurposing in alignment with city-focused goals.
The city informed all current tenants of the building of the impending changes, requesting that they vacate the premises by July 31. “This two-month transition period is intended to provide sufficient time for relocation and planning,” City Manager Arron Brown said.
All leases with the current tenants had expired prior to the city purchasing the 17-unit building.
During the escrow process, a prospective tenant expressed interest in leasing the entire building. Following a review of the proposal and consideration of long-term community benefits, the city determined that entering into a single long-term lease with this prospective tenant would offer the most effective and strategic use of the facility.
The city stated that it has additional municipally owned properties that will become available in the near future and encouraged tenants to explore these options and contact city staff for guidance and assistance in finding suitable new spaces if needed.
“We are committed to supporting all tenants fairly and respectfully throughout this process,” Brown said.
