
The City of Canyon Lake invites the community to give the gift of a meal this Thanksgiving by participating in its 13th Annual Turkey and Food Drive on Thursday, November 21, Donations of frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items can be dropped off in front of city hall between 2 and 4 p.m.
Suggested donations include frozen turkeys, whole frozen chickens, stuffing mix and gravy mix, canned mushroom soup, canned green beans, canned yams and brown sugar, miniature marshmallows, cornbread mix, hot chocolate and coffee, cake and cookie mix, and non-perishable items.

Food collected will be donated to HOPE, a nonprofit organization that serves Canyon Lake and the surrounding communities.
In addition to the Turkey Drive, Yard Fresh, a local pet waste management company, is hosting a Blanket Drive to benefit the animals at Animal Friends of the Valleys. They are accepting new and gently used blankets, which can be dropped off in a collection bin at the Turkey Drive.
