The City of Canyon Lake is offering bonus gift cards to consumers who purchase gift cards through the city’s Canyon Cash eGift Card Program. The city received funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and has set aside $15,000 for the program.
The city is partnering with the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce to implement the program, which will launch on June 6.
The city will add a $10 bonus card with the purchase of a $25 gift card, a $25 bonus card with the purchase of a $50 gift card, and a $50 bonus card with the purchase of a $100 gift card. The gift cards are only valid at Canyon Lake businesses participating in the program and cannot be redeemed for cash. The bonus gift cards expire in June 2023. The non-bonus gift cards do not expire.
The city is encouraging Canyon Lake businesses to sign up for the program at canyonlakechamber.org. There is no fee for businesses to participate; however, participating businesses must accept Mastercard payments and be able to process manual transactions.
Businesses redeem the card when a consumer comes in with a Canyon Cash eGift Card on their phone or a printed copy. The business is paid the full value of the card, less the normal manual entry Mastercard fee.
Chamber membership is not required for businesses to participate in the program; however, chamber businesses will receive recognition as a featured business on the eGift Card Program website. The chamber is offering a discount on new chamber memberships for those who register for the Canyon Cash Program.
