Planning is underway for Canyon Lake’s 13th Annual Veterans Day Celebration. This year’s celebration will include a golf cart parade, and a flyover by the Warbirds West.
The celebration will kick off in the morning with a golf cart parade that will begin at 9 a.m. at East Port Park. The parade will travel to Gault Field and then to the Veterans Memorial Park in the Towne Center. The Warbirds West will be flying over the lake at 1 p.m.
The Field of Honor will be erected at the Veterans Memorial Park the week leading up to Veterans Day. Residents will have the opportunity to honor their loved ones with a flag for a $10 donation. Each flag will feature the name of the honoree on it.
In addition to the flags in the Field of Honor, volunteers will be placing a flag in the front yard of every veteran and active duty service member who is registered with the city. Registration forms are available at Pack, Wrap, and Post in the Towne Center. Veterans who received a flag last year do not need to reregister.
