For the 11th consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Menifee for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. The award is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting.
The city’s financial report was judged by an impartial GFOA panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
“Ensuring strong fiscal stewardship and public transparency of the city’s finances remains a top priority,” City Manager Armando Villa said. “Our finance team continues to exceed industry standards and deliver the highest level of service.”
Chief Financial Officer Regina Funderburk said the city remains committed to safeguarding taxpayer funds through robust fiscal policies and best practices. “We understand how critical our mission is to responsibly manage the city’s financial operations,” Funderburk said.
