City of Murrieta to break ground on Children’s Library expansion

The City of Murrieta invites the community to celebrate a special milestone as it breaks ground on the expansion of the Murrieta Public Library Children’s Library. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the Murrieta Public Library in the Carol Carson Garden of Verses.

Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy a special story time, children’s activities, and an opportunity to see what’s ahead for the library.

By the summer of 2026, this transformative project will expand the existing space by an additional 4,500 square feet, creating a 7,200-square-foot center. The expansion project addresses current space limitations, providing innovative resources designed for the next generation.

The expansion is made possible with funding from the California State Library, Library Development Impact Fees, and funding support from the Murrieta Public Library Foundation.
