The City of Wildomar has announced the start of roadway improvements along Palomar Street, between Ione Lane and Penrose Street. Additionally, on-site enhancements to the Wildomar Cemetery are now underway.
Message boards and signage have been placed along Palomar Street to notify drivers of ongoing construction activities.
Work is expected to continue through November 2025.
The Palomar Street Widening and Cemetery Improvement Project includes the following:
- Palomar St.
- Widening to provide an additional northbound lane
- Multipurpose trail
- Bike lanes
- Sidewalks
- New intersection improvements with improved pedestrian accessibility at the Wildomar Trail and Gruwell Street intersections
- New traffic signals at the Wildomar Trail and Gruwell Street intersections
- Landscaping
- Gruwell St. (along the Cemetery frontage)
- Pavement reconstruction
- Sidewalk
- Curbside parking (south side of the road)
- Bike lanes
- Cemetery
- Cemetery
- New block walls, wrought-iron fencing, and entrance gates
- Perimeter/frontage landscaping on Palomar St. and Gruwell Street
- On-site accessibility (ADA) improvements
