The City of Wildomar is celebrating its 13th anniversary of incorporation with a birthday celebration on Saturday, July 10, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Marna O’Brien Park, 20505 Palomar St. The public is invited to attend this free event.
The celebration includes food vendors, a beer garden, vendor booths, live music, and free activities for adults and kids. Faith Bible will be offering free ice cream. Activities include sand art, Jenga, and a nine-hole golf course. Cari Fontain and the band Swagger will be performing. Sandy Dickinson will sing a special tribute song to Wildomar.
Nestled between the cities of Murrieta and Lake Elsinore, Wildomar was founded in 1886 and officially became a city on July 1, 2008, at that time home to about 28,000 residents. The name Wildomar was coined from the names of its three founders. The “Wil” in Wildomar is from William Collier, the “do” is from Donald Graham, and the “mar” is from Margaret Collier Graham.
