The City of Canyon Lake and the POA would like to remind residents that a self-serving sandbag site for residents is located at Fire Station 60 on Vacation Drive. The service is available 24/7.

The use of sandbags is a simple but effective way to prevent or reduce flood damage. Bags should be filled between one-third to one-half of their capacity to keep the bag from getting to heavy and to allow the bags too be stacked with a good seal.

The partially filled bags should be placed lengthwise and parallel to the direction of the water flow. The flaps of the bag should be tucked under, keeping the unfilled portion under the weight of the sack.

To stack the bags, place succeeding bags on top, offsetting by one-half filled length of the previous bag. Stomp into place to eliminate voids and to form a tight seal.
