More than 500 children in costumes scattered throughout the Towne Center on Saturday to collect candy at businesses participating in the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce’s 29th Annual Parade of Frights. Along the way, children collected stamps on a Treasure Map for a chance to win gift cards in a drawing.
The Parade of Frights offered plenty of fright-free fun. Children played carnival games for prizes, showcased their costumes in the parade, and competed for trophies in the costume contest.
Deputy Bruccheri passed out stickers while the Canyon Lake firefighters passed out Candy. A DJ provided spooktacular music throughout the morning.
The winners of the costume contests are as follows:
- Ages 1 and younger: Axell Foisy (werewolf)
- Ages 2 to 5: Savy Duarte (Cinderella)
- Ages 6 to 7: Daniel Najera (Jack Skellington)
- Ages 8 to 9: Scarlett Armstrong (mad scientist)
- Best Ensemble: Johnson family (choo choo train)
The winners were presented with pumpkin trophies. Canyon Lake Chamber members Joseph Cortez, and Kyler Battleson served as judges.
Elena Aparicio, Scarlett Armstrong, and Eric Sierra won the Treasure Map drawing and were presented with gift cards.
