
Longtime residents Nancy and Ted Horton are relocated to Menifee. Friends of the couple are hosting a farewell party on July 9 at 5 p.m at Indian Beach and invite the community to attend. Those attending are asked to bring their own chair and beverage.
Nancy and Ted moved to Canyon Lake 20 years ago and have been serving as community leaders and volunteers for the past 10 years. Ted was elected to the POA Board of Directors in 2014. He served as a member of the Tuesday Work Group, secretary of the Men’s Golf Club, and on several golf committees.
Nancy was elected to the Canyon Lake City Council in 2008. She was appointed mayor in 2010. In November 2014, voters elected her to represent Division One on Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Board of Directors.
Nancy co-founded the Canyon Lake Veterans Day Committee in 2009 and has served as chair of the team responsible for installing the Veterans Memorial Monument in the Towne Center in 2011. In 2012, Nancy founded the Canyon Lake National Day of Prayer.
The couple served as volunteers for HOPE, Helping Hands Group, and Canyon Lake Community Church. They are members of serval Canyon Lake clubs, which they support and serve as volunteers.
The Hortons were honored last year as grand marshals of Canyon Lake’s Fiesta Day Parade. Their long list of contributes helped to shape Canyon Lake into the city it is today.
