Community invited to Yacht Club’s ‘Concert on the Water’

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club invites the community to its first “Concert on the Water” on Saturday, August 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. This event will feature the music of the Eagles.

Participating boats will meet at the lodge dock at 5 p.m. and depart at 5:15 p.m. for a leisurely cruise around the main lake. After the cruise, boats will tie up in Catfish Cove in front of the concert boat. This is not a live concert. Music will be broadcast from the designated concert boat.

“Bring your food, beverages, swimsuits, floaties, and Aqua Lily pads,” said Vice Commodore Ron Wilbur. “Dance and sing along or just sit and enjoy the music and the evening with your food and drinks.”

Non-boat owners who wish to participate may contact the Yacht Club at [email protected] to inquire about space availability on one of the Yacht Club boats.

The Yacht Club encourages all participants to follow public health guidelines, including social distancing and masks, when appropriate.

Future “Concert on the Water” events will feature the music of Jimmy Buffett, the Zac Brown Band, Chicago and Tower of Power, and the Best of Motown. For a list of the club’s upcoming events, visit www.canyonlakeyachtclub.com.

Formed in 1990, the Canyon Lake Yacht Club is comprised of members of all ages and interests. Annual membership is $15. Boat ownership is not required to join the club. The Yacht Club hosts several social and philanthropic events throughout the year and gives back to the community through its community events and student scholarship program.
