The City of Menifee invites its residents to gather their ghouls, ghosts, and goblins, and prepare to haunt their homes for the city’s Haunt Your House competition.
This annual event offers Menifee residents a chance to showcase their best Halloween decorations for an opportunity to win a lawn sign recognizing their house as a winner, a feature on Menifee TV, and bragging rights.
This year’s categories are:
- Scariest: For those who like to send shivers down spines, this category is all about the chills.
- Best Theme: Whether it’s a classic horror scene, a haunted carnival, or something unique, this category celebrates cohesive and imaginative themes. Anything goes in the Best Theme category.
- Most Innovated: This category is for the tech-savvy or DIY geniuses who bring something new and exciting to the table.
- Most Kid-Friendly: For those who like to keep it spooky yet fun and appropriate for all ages.
- Dia de los Muertos: Celebrate the rich cultural tradition of Dia de los Muertos with vibrant, meaningful displays that honor this special day.
Applications will be open from October 1 through October 14. This gives residents time to plan, decorate, and perfect their Halloween displays. Entries will be added to a GIS map to be viewable for public voting.
Once all the entries are in, it’s time for the community to get involved and vote for their favorite entries. Voting will be open from October 18 through October 22,
The winners in each category will announced on October 25.
