A 20-year-old Corona man has been arrested in connection with a deadly double shooting that occurred on Tuesday in the movie theater at The Crossings Shopping Center, 2650 Tuscany St., Corona
Corona Police Department detectives served a search warrant in the 19000 block of Envoy in El Cerrito at the residence of suspect Joseph Jimenez and discovered a firearm that matched the caliber of the weapon used in the murder, according to the Corona Police Department.
The female victim, 18-year-old Rylee Goodrich of Corona, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The male victim, 19-year-old Anthony Barajas of Corona, was transported to a local hospital and is on life support. Both victims were inside the theater watching the 9:35 p.m. showing of The Forever Purge when the shooting occurred, according to authorities.
Jimenez was charged with murder, attempted murder, and robbery with a gun, according to jail records. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
A GoFundMe account was established to raise funds to cover Goodrich’s funeral expenses. Barajas, a TikTok star with nearly one million followers, last posted on Friday and said he was on a family vacation. A relative established a GoFundMe account to help pay for his medical expenses.
The Corona Police Department is asking for help from anyone who was inside the theater, in another movie theater, or in the shopping center between 9 and 11:45 p.m. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Detective Slaven Neagu at 951-739-4916 or [email protected].
