In 2018, Canyon Lake Councilwoman Kasey Castillo had a vision to start a program that would benefit Canyon Lake kids between the ages of eight and 16.

Casillo’s vision lead to the recent formation of the CLEAR Foundation, a nonprofit, philanthropic, charitable foundation geared at enriching the lives of Canyon Lake kids.

The CLEAR (Canyon Lake Enrichment Activities and Recreation) Foundation was born out of the need for a hub to interface with the city, POA, water district, community clubs and groups, local businesses, and community members that want to contribute to a tax-exempt program that benefits Canyon Lake kids.

The goal of the CLEAR Foundation is to encourage healthy choices and good judgment through programs and recreational activities that promote conservation, lake stewardship, water safety, awareness, team building, and community involvement.

“The formation of the CLEAR Foundation is in progress and we are excited,” Castillo said. “We have goers and doers on the CLEAR Foundation Board who are committed to making this a reality for our Canyon Lake kids. Say tuned for our first program, which will be a Junior Lifeguard program with tryouts at Sunset Beach.”

The CLEAR Foundation is seeking volunteers and residents who can be a resource or a benefactor. For more information about the CLEAR Foundation, email [email protected]
