Murrieta is gearing up for an exciting weekend of cycling action as the de Tour Murrieta returns on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6. This year marks the 20th anniversary
Bring the whole family to watch some of California’s most competitive race teams cycle through Murrieta. The courses will remain downtown, providing prime viewing spots for spectators.
Saturday’s Grand Prix course is a one-mile lightning-fast course through historic downtown Murrieta, offering thrilling, high-speed action. Due to the opening of the new bridge on Guava Street, the Circuit Race course is now a rolling four-mile course with eight turns.
Saturday’s event will have a festive-like atmosphere, including an exposition area, food and beverages, music, and the popular kids’ race.
Children between the ages of two and 12 are encouraged to participate in the Kids’ Bicycle Race on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Senior Center parking lot. Distances will vary according to age group. Medals will be awarded to all participants. Admission is free with a non-perishable canned food donation to benefit the local food pantry.
