Canyon Lake resident and business owner Debby Gagnon is one of eight Riverside County seniors to be honored at the 3rd Annual Senior Legacy Awards, presented by Riverside County Second District Supervisor Karen Spiegel.

The Senior Legacy Awards is an ode to the Senior Inspiration Awards, a three-decade-long event hosted in the Coachella Valley. The event was created to offer appreciation and encouragement to senior citizens in the county who have dedicated countless hours to the improvement of their neighborhoods and communities.

Gagnon, a Canyon Lake resident since 1986 and the owner of Pack, Wrap, and Post for more than 35 years, has served her community for nearly four decades.

Gagnon helped organize the city’s Military Banner Program and annual Veterans Day Celebration. She was part of the volunteer team responsible for bringing the Veterans Memorial Monument to the Canyon Lake Towne Center in November 2011.

Each year. Gagnon organizes the “Field of Honor” display at the Veterans Memorial Park. This annual patriotic tribute provides an opportunity for the community to honor veterans and active-duty military personnel for their service and sacrifices.

Gagnon has been a member of the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years, serving most of that time as a board member and helping to plan and organize key events such as the annual Oktoberfest and the Parade of Frights.

Gagnon has been honored several times for her community involvement. Her accolades include the Canyon Lake Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Month, and Member of the Month awards. She was also honored by the city as Citizen of the Month.

In past years, Gagnon served on the city’s Emergency Preparedness Committee and the Canyon Lake POA’s Fiesta Day Committee. In 2024, she was selected by the POA to serve as the grand marshal of the Fiesta Day parade.

Gagnon, along with seven other Riverside County seniors, will be honored at the Senior Legacy Awards on August 14.
