On Friday at 6:26 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to an unknown trouble call for service at a hotel in the 24800 block of Elder Avenue in the city of Moreno Valley. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased adult male and two females suffering life-threatening injuries.
The case was assumed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Overdose Death Investigations and Narcotics Unit (ODIN). “Early findings would indicate drugs are a factor in the death and we do not suspect foul play,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release. ” A preliminary field narcotics analyzer showed a positive reading for fentanyl from a substance found in the room.”
This is an active investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Master Investigator James Peters at 951-955-1700.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is said to be 100 times stronger than morphine and can cause death or serious bodily harm.
