The pavement engineering firm GMU will be performing deflection testing on Canyon Lake roads on August 4 and August 5 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The testing truck and trailer will travel on Canyon Lake POA streets and drop a heavy weight onto the pavement to simulate a single tire load of 9,000 pounds. Each test takes about three minutes. The pickup truck and trailer will stop for about one minute at 50 to 250 feet intervals. Flashers will be on and residents may drive around the truck and trailer.
This testing will help engineers determine the proper repair strategy for each street. The POA is currently working with GMU to develop the RFP, plans, and specifications for the “Year One” of several years of road repairs.
