Demolition of the existing restrooms at Happy Camp started last week, the POA announced. Temporary restrooms and showers are on-site to accommodate those staying at Happy Camp.

On February 1, the POA Board of Directors approved funding in the amount of $392,383.20 to upgrade the 37-year-old building. When finished, the building will have a modern look.

The scope of the work includes demolition of the inside, new plumbing, electrical, countertops, drywall, tile, restroom, and shower stalls. The exterior work includes a new roof, stucco, stone veneer, windows, patio cover, doors, and walkways.

The active construction site is off-limits to residents. Those who enter the work area may be subject to fines.
