Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies seize 150 pounds of fireworks, issue 56 citations

Approximately 150 pounds of fireworks were seized during an operation conducted by the Lake Elsinore Station’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) and Investigations Bureau.

On July 4, deputies took a proactive approach to combat illegal and dangerous fireworks. Throughout the operation, numerous individuals were contacted, cited, and educated about the dangers of lighting illegal fireworks in their communities.

In total, 56 citations were issued for possession of fireworks and one criminal violation for possession with intent to distribute fireworks. Approximately 150 pounds of fireworks were seized and later destroyed by the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Hazardous Devices Team.
