On September 4, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lake Elsinore Station seized approximately 954 marijuana plants in various stages of growth from a residence within the City of Lake Elsinore, known as Tuscany Hills.

The residence in the 10 block of Via Del Lago was transformed using common building materials into a marijuana cultivation site, according to Sergeant Glenn Warrington. The electrical system within the residence had been illegally altered causing a severe fire hazard.

Southern California Edison Company responded to the residence and determined approximately $40,000 in electricity was stolen, according to authorities. Southern California Edison turned the power off to the residence due to the illegal wiring throughout the residence.

Asu Huang, a 55-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for illegal marijuana cultivation, utility theft, and maintaining a drug house.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Deputy Meissen at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245-3300.
