Driver determined to be under the influence at time of head-on collision in Lake Elsinore

On July 19, deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lake Elsinore Station responded to a major injury traffic collision on Riverside Drive near the intersection of Gunnerson Street. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a head-on collision involving a Toyota Tundra and a Dodge Ram. All involved parties sustained injuries during the collision.

According to the sheriff’s release, the driver of the Tundra, Ramon Hernandez-Delgado, 59, of Lake Elsinore, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. Hernandez-Delgado was admitted to the hospital for his injuries and will be booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center when released.
