Driver injured in hit-and-run accident in Canyon Lake

A hit-and-run incident involving a parked vehicle occurred on May 29 around 8 p.m. in the area of Cruise Circle Drive and Harbor Drive in the City of Canyon Lake, authorities confirmed.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle struck a parked car and fled the scene. A Canyon Lake deputy located the suspect vehicle in the Canyon Lake Towne Center.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, sustained injuries during the hit-and-run collision and was transported to a local hospital. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.

The driver was released from the hospital pending further investigation. Charges will be filed out of custody, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.

This marks the second hit-and-run reported in the City of Canyon in less than a week. On May 24, two women suffered head injuries when the golf cart they were riding in was struck by an SUV. The driver of the SUV fled the scene but was arrested two days later and booked for felony hit-and-run with injuries.
