A multi-vehicle traffic collision in Wildomar claimed the life of one person early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. at Bundy Canyon Road and Harvest Way.
Deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station and personnel from Cal Fire responded to the scene, where they located two individuals trapped inside their vehicles.
Firefighters extricated both individuals, who were transported to a local hospital in critical condition. One of the drivers later succumbed to their injuries. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor, said the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
