Eight residents have announced their candidacy to run for a seat on the Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors. Two of the five seats are up for election in May when the terms of Joe Kamashian and Jim Barringham end.
The Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors is made up of five directors, who are collectively responsible for the management and operation of the POA’s business affairs. Directors are elected by at-large for staggered two-year terms. The terms are staggered with three directors in odd years and two directors in even years.
Rita Bendlin, Greg Doherty, Carl Gardner, Kalon Morris, Lance Phillips, Alexis Prince, Tony Schwarzman, and Bill Van Vleet have submitted Intent to Run forms and announced their candidacy.
In the weeks leading up to the election, Canyon Lake Insider will feature a series of questions to the candidates. During this period, residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates and learn what they hope to accomplish if elected to serve on the board.
The election schedule is as follows:
Only prime members are allowed to vote in the election. Prime members have one vote per unit/lot/parcel owned. In households that include a husband and a wife, the prime member is issued in the name of the husband unless otherwise directed.
Each candidate’s resume of qualifications and goals is posted online at www.clpoa.com/election.
