
The Canyon Lake Ski Club presented member Emilia Horton with its Bob Barton Award.
The Bob Barton Award is presented annually to the Ski Club member who has made the greatest contribution to three-event waterskiing in the Western Region.
Horton has competed in the International World Waterski Championships and three-event tournaments and served as a judge and scorer. She also serves as the secretary for the Ski Club.
Last year’s Bob Barton Award recipient, Kim Larson, presented Horton with the award during the Ski Club’s end-of-season annual banquet on April 6.
Horton graduated from the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2013, where she participated on the waterski team for four years. She then moved to moved to California and skied at Wet Set. She resides in Canyon Lake with her husband, Taylor Horton, who is also a waterski competitor and a member of the Canyon Lake Ski Club.
