In honor of National Recovery Month, Riverside Recovery Resources is hosting a Comedy for a Cause fundraiser to support addiction recovery efforts. This hilarious event will take place on Saturday, September 28, at 7 p.m. at CJ’s Sports Grill & Turf Club at 20930 Malaga Rd., Lake Elsinore.
Comedy For a Cause features comedians Richard Weiss, Donna Maine, and Gayla Johnson.
Weiss, a contributor to National Lampoon, is the creator of the comic strip “Weiss Cracks” and has a highly-rated Funny Or Die sketch of “Funny Or Die”. In his stand-up performance, Weiss shares about his pilgrimage from insanity and shame to spirituality and laughter.
Maine’s comedic insights include relationships, kids, medical background, and coping with middle age in a post-millennial world. She has brought her wit to major comedy clubs and comedy festivals, including the Burbank Comedy Festival and Palm Springs Comedy Festival.
Johnson can be seen on BET’s Comic View, Comedy Central, SiTV’s Comedy Spotlight, and Mobi TV. She’s shared the stage with such comedic contemporaries as Chris Rock, Dat Phan, and Don “DC” Curry, to name a few.
Tickets cost $30 and include two free drinks. Doors open at 6 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here.
Proceeds from this event will go directly to supporting addiction recovery programs at Riverside Recovery Resources. Serving the community since 1986, Riverside Recovery Resources is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. For more information, visit https://riversiderecovery.org.
