The father and son team of Bobby Gunter and Jesse Beecher have a winning record when it comes to Canyon Lake golf tournaments. The duo won their flight in the two-day annual Member/Member Tournament on September 12 and 13. Seventy-year-old Gunter won the Long Drive contest for 65 and older golfers.
In July, Beecher won in his flight in the three-day Club Championship Tournament and, for the past two years, was the runner-up in the Family Golf Club’s President’s Cup Tournament. This past spring, father and son won the two-day Spring Kickoff Tournament — again.
On September 17, Gunter and Beecher will be representing Canyon Lake for the second consecutive year in the SCGA Four-Ball Net Qualifying Tournament at the Arrowood Golf Course in Oceanside. If they qualify they will secure a spot in the Championship Tournament in October.
“Jesse and I have been blessed to be successful multiple times, in part because we know each other’s golf game and plan our strategy around that knowledge,” Gunter said.
Gunter is a member of the Men’s Golf Club and After Lunch Bunch Golf Club. Beecher is a member of the Men’s Golf Club and Family Golf Club.
