Chris Papavero and his wife, Ginny, relocated to Canyon Lake in 2010 and instantly fell in love with the community.
Within a year of moving to Canyon Lake. Chris joined the Yacht Club. Twelve years later, Papavero is still a member of the club and serves in a volunteer capacity. He was recently recognized by the club during an appreciation potluck honoring its volunteers.
Papavero is also a volunteer member of the Facility Planning Committee and serves on two sub-committees: Dog Park, and Gault Field. The Facilities Planning Committee is the monitoring committee for all common area facilities and roads. Committee responsibilities include building maintenance, long-range planning, master planning, capital projects, and continued facility management/maintenance.
Papavero joined the Guild five years ago and has served on its board for nearly three years. He assists in the planning and organizing of the Guild’s concerts.
An avid gardener, Papavero jumped at the chance to become involved in the Community Gardeners Club when it was formed. He joined as a member and later served on the board.
Although he has no children in Little League, Papavero took part in the Little League’s Clean-Up Day in preparation for Opening Day and the 2023 season.
Papavero’s greatest volunteer challenge may be ahead as he prepares to run for a seat on the POA Board of Directors. A position on the board requires approximately 700 volunteer hours per year.
Papavero likes to stay active by playing pickleball and enjoys being a part of the 500-member Pickleball Club.
When not volunteering, Papavero enjoys gardening, fishing, boating, and dinners with his wife and friends at the country club.
