On Saturday, July 11, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of State Highway 74 and Riverside Street in the city of Lake Elsinore. Upon arrival, deputies located a female inside her vehicle suffering from major injuries. She was treated by medical personnel at the scene and pronounced deceased. The driver of the second vehicle, a 62-year-old male from Arkansas, was not injured in the collision.
The preliminary investigation indicates the female was driving northbound on Riverside Street, making a left-hand turn to westbound State Highway 74 when the second driver, traveling east on State Highway 74, collided with the driver’s side. The cause of this collision is still under investigation. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the collision.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the coroner’s office once positive identification can be established and the next of kin can be notified. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Deputy Willow of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245-3300.
