It’s that time of year again when Canyon Lake residents deck out their golf carts and spread holiday cheer through the streets of Canyon Lake. The 15th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive will be held on Sunday, December 7.
Entry into the golf cart parade is a new, unwrapped toy, benefiting the toy drive and local foster families.
Parade participants will start lining up at 4 p.m. along Blue Bird Drive, where toy donations will be collected. The parade will start promptly at 5 p.m., traveling along Canyon Lake Drive and concluding at East Port Park.
Spectators are encouraged to line the parade route and enjoy the colorful display and holiday cheer.
At the conclusion of the parade, residents can view the carts up close at East Port Park and enjoy post-parade festivities and the presentation of awards for the best-decorated entries.
To ensure safety, there will be no street parking along the parade route from 4 to 7 p.m. Vehicles may park on the opposite side of the street or on side streets. Vehicle traffic will be reduced to 5 mph during the parade. Vehicles will not be permitted to pass the parade once it starts.
Spectators and those who wish to support the toy drive without participating in the parade can drop off new, unwrapped toys at East Port Park at the end of the parade or ahead of time at the collection box located at 22055 Mustang Ct.
The Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive started in 2011 with approximately 20 golf carts. Today, more than 100 golf carts participate, and hundreds of toys are donated.
