Former Lake Elsinore Councilman passes away peacefully at home

Former Lake Elsinore Councilman Daryl Hickman passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 12. He was 81 years old.

Hickman was first elected to the Lake Elsinore City Council on November 6, 2001, and served the residents of Lake Elsinore for 17 years until he left office in 2018. He served as mayor from 2007 to 2008.

“We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Mr. Hickman, who faithfully served our community for nearly two decades,” said Mayor Tim Sheridan. “Daryl was a respected and dedicated public servant. He was also a very nice man and he will be truly missed.”

Hickman will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. He will be honored at the next City Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 22, at 7 p.m. at the Lake Elsinore Cultural Center.⁠
