Former Canyon Lake Mayor Vicki Warren and her husband, Bryan, have announced their plans to relocate to Ash Fork, Arizona, at the end of March. The Warrens are looking forward to living a slower-paced lifestyle in a town of fewer than 1,000 residents.

The Warrens purchased a 42-acre ranch and are building a homestead to retire on. They’ve named their ranch Warren’s Peace and plan to spend their time building a shooting range, raising chickens, planting a garden, watching the sunset, and fending off wild animals. Their future plans include opening a general store.

“We are completely off the grid,” Vicki said. “We’ll be powered by solar and propane, but will eventually put up a windmill. The Warrens plan to return to Canyon Lake once a month for Bryan’s job and to visit family.

The Warrens moved from Corona to Canyon Lake in 2012. Warren served on the Canyon Lake City Council from 2014 to 2018. She was appointed mayor in 2017. She also served as the chair of the city’s Veterans Day Celebration Committee for five years.

Community members are invited to say their goodbyes to the Warrens at a farewell dinner on Thursday, March 10, at 6 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Country Club. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by email at [email protected].
