Riverside County native and former police chief Dave Brown has been hired to serve as the new director of the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association.
Brown has served in Riverside County law enforcement for more than 30 years. He spent the majority of his career with the Hemet Police Department where he served as chief of police from 2010 to 2017.
Brown was an instructor at the Riverside County Sheriff’s academy and commanded the Southwest Cities SWAT Team for many years. Brown served his fellow officers on the Police Officers’ Board of Directors for 13 years. Following his retirement with the Hemet Police Department, Brown joined the City of Menifee as director of Public Safety.
“Dave Brown brings a wealth of experience to this position, but I believe his best quality is his passion for serving those who serve,” Riverside Sheriffs’ Association President Bill Young said.
The Riverside Sheriffs’ Association is the exclusive employee organization representing members employed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
