Forty Canyon Lake kids headed off to Lake Perris State Recreation Area this morning to participate in the Jr. Lifeguard Program. Bus transportation is provided by the City of Canyon Lake.
This two-week program teaches kids valuable life-saving techniques, boating safety, water safety, and teamwork skills.
To qualify for the program, participants were required to pass scored swimming and treading tests. The Canyon Lake Enrichment, Activities and Recreation (C.L.E.A.R.) Foundation partnered with California State Parks to hold tryouts in Canyon Lake. To prepare the kids for tryouts, the C.L.E.A.R. Foundation offered a Stroke Clinic at the Canyon Lake pool. The Stroke Clinic and tryouts were held in April.
The C.L.E.A.R. Foundation is collaborating with the Canyon Lake Wakeboard and Waterski Clubs to host a three-day Wakeboard and Waterski Camp for kids from July 24 through July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the north ski area.
