An early morning house fire in Canyon Lake left four adults temporarily displaced after flames broke out around 1 a.m. on Wild Rice Drive.
Fire crews responded with six engines and one truck. The fire was contained to the garage, two bedrooms, and a bathroom.
All occupants were able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported. Pets inside the residence were also safely evacuated.
While the fire caused significant damage to parts of the home, firefighters were able to bring the situation under control before it escalated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Canyon Lake Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse.
The displaced residents are now working to recover following the incident. A family friend set up a GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-casey-lums-family-rebuild-after-house-fire.
