Four arrests were made at a Menifee DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Saturday. The checkpoint was held from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. near the intersection of Scott Road and Lindenberger Road.
Deputies screened 258 vehicles and made two arrests for DUI, one arrest for driving on a suspended license for DUI and a warrant. and one arrest for weapons charges.
Six vehicles were towed and twelve drivers were cited for various vehicle code violations. Five of those drivers were unlicensed.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
The Menifee Police Department will hold another checkpoint on Saturday, December 14.
